We are currently hiring for the following position for the 26/27 school year.

Part-Time One-on-One Academic Support Instructor

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00–11:00 AM

Hours: 10 hours per week

Position: Part-time

Compensation: Hourly pay based on education and relevant experience

Position Overview:

This position is dedicated to working individually with one student who benefits from personalized academic instruction, structure, and support. The instructor will work alongside the Kainos team to help the student access academic content, develop skills, remain engaged in learning, and make progress toward individualized educational goals.

The ideal candidate understands that effective instruction may require flexibility, patience, creativity, and adapting teaching methods to the individual learner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one academic instruction and support as directed by the classroom teacher

  • Adapt lessons, materials, pacing, and instructional approaches to meet the student's learning needs

  • Reinforce academic skills and provide additional instruction when concepts require more practice

  • Support attention, engagement, organization, and successful participation in the learning environment

  • Break assignments and concepts into manageable steps when appropriate

  • Encourage independence, confidence, and self-advocacy

  • Follow established strategies, routines, and supports that help the student learn successfully

  • Collaborate with Kainos staff to monitor progress and adjust instructional approaches as needed

  • Maintain a respectful, encouraging, and student-centered learning environment

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other neurodivergent learners is strongly preferred. Relevant experience may include teaching, tutoring, special education, intervention, paraprofessional support, behavioral support, or other one-on-one work with children or adolescents.

  • Candidates should demonstrate patience, consistency, strong communication skills, and the ability to build a positive relationship with an individual learner.

  • Formal teaching licensure is not required. Must pass a formal background check.
